seeds of the monsoon cloud

seeds of the monsoon clouds chapbook supplements the series of work, with text written by the sage voices – of the desert winds – if you will, of Myers desert wanderings. The hand-bound book comprises 24 authors reflecting on the corollary research prongs of ‘the lost cowboy’: the desert as a place of endurance and enlightenment; deconstructing notions of hypermasculinity represented by the cowboy; marking the unseen visible; and the currency of water amongst drought-subjected land and AI data centers; etc. The text surveys an array of topics, unearthing the universality of drought seasons, and showing how what initially appears arid and harsh may be lush with a different logic. Combining indigenous knowledge, words from desert natives across the globe, pastors beyond a preach, the sermons of poets, doctoral candidates, and grassroots journalism, seeds of the monsoon clouds provide a textual entry into the artist’s thoughtscape amongst the creation of ‘the lost cowboy’.
